St. Charles Parish Hospital CEO Federico 'Fred' Martinez to retire: 4 things to know

Federico "Fred" Martinez, CEO of St. Charles Parish Hospital in Luling, La., will retire later this year, according to a St. Charles Herald-Guide report.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Martinez.

1. He joined St. Charles Parish Hospital as CEO in 1986.

2. There have been many accomplishments at St. Charles Parish during his tenure. For instance, in 1992, the hospital added a medical office building, according to the report. A new surgery facility was also developed and built during his time as CEO.

3. In addition, he has worked closely with Access Health of Louisiana "to ensure the underserved in St. Charles Parish and elsewhere have appropriate access to care," and in 2013, he oversaw the design and development of a new emergency department at the hospital.

4. He has held memberships in the Louisiana Hospital Association, The Rotary Club of St. Charles and in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
