St. Alphonsus Medical Center-Baker City drops 'interim' from President J. Phil Harrop's title: 5 takeaways

St. Alphonsus Medical Center-Baker City (Ore.) named J. Phil Harrop permanent president, according to a report by The Observer.

Here are five takeaways:

1. Mr. Harrop has been serving at the helm of the hospital on an interim basis since Jan. 9.

2. Previously, he served as executive director of operations for St. Alphonsus Health System's Nampa, Idaho-based facilities. St. Alphonsus Health System is based in Boise, Idaho.

3. His previous roles include serving as interim CEO for Walter Knox Memorial Hospital in Emmett, Idaho, and executive director of John Stoddard Cancer Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

4. In 2015, he was selected as the Idaho Regent for the American College of Healthcare Executives.

5. Mr. Harrop holds an MBA degree as well as a master of health administration degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus.
