St. Louis-based SSM Health hired Steve Smoot to serve as COO, effective July 16.
Here are five notes:
1. Mr. Smoot comes to SSM Health from Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare, where he served as associate COO.
2. He has previously served as regional vice president for Intermountain's South region.
3. He has also served as administrator of both Cedar City (Utah) Hospital and Utah Valley Hospital in Provo.
4. A fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives, he has received the ACHE Regents Award in both Montana and Utah.
5. Mr. Smoot earned his MBA from Brigham Young University in Provo.
