Pamela Daley Whelton, the first female president of South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth, Mass., has resigned after nearly four months in the role, a spokesperson confirmed to Becker's Hospital Review.
She was also executive vice president of South Shore Health, also headquartered in South Weymouth. She was named to the roles in April.
Ms. Whelton joined South Shore Hospital in 1997 as a financial analyst. She has also served as the hospital's chief administrative and financial officer in her 20-plus years of service at the hospital.
South Shore Health President and CEO Gene E. Green, MD, will become president of South Shore Hospital, effective immediately.
