Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Health Care System selected Sharon Roush to serve as the inaugural president of Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Laurel Road in Venice, Fla.
Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Laurel Road is still in the planning stages, and construction is expected to take three years. The hospital will have 90 acute care beds, 20 beds for observation patients as well as an emergency care center with 25 treatment rooms.
Ms. Roush will assume her new role in July. She previously served as CEO of South Bay Hospital in Sun City, Fla., for nearly a decade. She also served as CEO of Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Fla., and Columbia Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla. All the facilities are a part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.
As president, Ms. Roush will oversee pre-construction plans for the hospital, including meeting with city officials. She will also be responsible for hiring medical staff and clinical team members.
