Russell Armistead, MBA, has been named CEO of Shands Jacksonville (Fla.) Medical Center. He took on the position Jan. 7.
Mr. Armistead previously served as associate vice president of finance and planning at the University of Florida Health Science Center in Gainesville and Jacksonville.
Mr. Armistead is replacing James Burkhart, who announced his resignation on Jan. 2. Mr. Burkhart will stay with Shands Jacksonville through February in a consulting role before taking over as CEO of Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital on March 4.
