Debra Flores, president of Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, Va., will wrap up her 30-year career with Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare on Oct. 6. Ms. Flores will subsequently assume an executive leadership role with Madera, Calif.-based Valley Children's Healthcare.
In her time at Sentara, Ms. Flores held many leadership positions, including nurse executive and vice president of operations at CarePlex Hospital, as well as director of physical rehabilitation services for several other system hospitals.
"It is with a heavy heart that I leave my family at Sentara Healthcare and the lower peninsula community," said Ms. Flores in an emailed release. "I am excited about the next chapter in my healthcare career and know that Sentara CarePlex Hospital is poised to continue realizing its mission of improving health every day. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey so far. I am so grateful for this experience."
Rita Bunch, who joined CarePlex Hospital in 2016 as vice president of operations, will assume the role of interim president upon Ms. Flores' resignation on Oct. 6.
