Tanya Hoar, CEO and CFO of Manistique, Mich.-based Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital, has resigned, according to information from the hospital.
Here are five things to know about Ms. Hoar and her resignation.
1. Ms. Hoar's resignation will take effect Dec. 4.
2. In a letter announcing her resignation, Ms. Hoar said she is resigning because she "strongly feel[s] it is in the best interest of the hospital to have a CEO who is fully supported by a majority of the board of trustees." She added, "Without that support, I feel that I can no longer serve the patients and the staff to the best of my abilities. It was with personal disappointment that I came to the decision to resign."
3. Ms. Hoar has served as CEO and CFO of SMH for the past two years.
4. In her letter, she said one of the hospital's achievements she is most proud of during her tenure was the hospital receiving a five-star HCAHPS summary rating from CMS.
5. Once she leaves SMH, Ms. Hoar plans to remain in the community as a stay-at-home mother and continue to be active on local boards.
