San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland, Calif., fired President and CEO Harris Koenig Sept. 10, according to an Inland Valley Daily Bulletin report.
Board Chairman Howard Borenstein confirmed to the Bulletin that Mr. Koenig was asked to leave. He offered no details about Mr. Koenig’s departure, and the hospital did not respond to a request for comment from Becker's Hospital Review.
Mr. Koenig became president and CEO of the hospital in June 2011. Mr. Borenstein noted Mr. Koenig's achievements as CEO, including the addition of the Women's Breast and Imaging Center and initiating a partnership with cancer treatment center City of Hope in Duarte, Calif.
John Chapman, the hospital's COO, will become interim CEO, according to the report.
