Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services has appointed Robert Iannaccone as the new CEO of Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, N.J.
Here are seven things to know about Mr. Iannaccone.
1. He has more than 25 years of healthcare leadership and operational experience in New Jersey.
2. Most recently, he was senior vice president of cardiovascular services at Orange, N.J.-based Barnabas Health. Barnabas Health in March completed its merger with Robert Wood Johnson Health System, which has flagship hospital campuses in New Brunswick, N.J., and Somerset, N.J.
3. Prior to joining Barnabas Health, Mr. Iannaccone worked for St. Mary's General Hospital in Passaic, N.J., as executive vice president and COO.
4. He previously was executive vice president and COO of Raritan Bay Medical Center, which has locations in Perth Amboy, N.J., and Old Bridge, N.J. He also previously served in senior executive roles at Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System and as executive vice president of business development and legal services at Saint Clare's Denville (N.J.).
5. Mr. Iannaccone has consulted for New York City-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
6. At Saint Michael's, he replaces David Ricci, who served as the hospital's CEO since July 2011.
7. Mr. Iannaccone's appointment comes at the same time Prime completed its acquisition of bankrupt Saint Michael's.
