John Bibby, president of St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital, a Catholic Healthcare West facility in Camarillo, Calif., has been dismissed without a clear explanation, according to a Ventura County Star report.
Although Mr. Bibby did not return phone calls, his wife confirmed he was terminated in early November and could not comment on the dismissal due to the terms of his termination agreement, according to the report. Hospital officials have also stayed mum on the matter, simply saying Mr. Bibby was seeking other opportunities.
Mr. Bibby was named full-time president of St. John's Pleasant Valley in Oct. 2010 after serving some time as the interim president following former CEO T. Michael Murray's departure, according to the report. Prior to serving as interim president, Mr. Bibby had worked as vice president of human resources for St. John's Pleasant Valley since 2005.
Hospital officials said a successor will not be named for at least six months while the hospital's needs are assessed.
