Grant, Neb.-based Perkins County Health Services has named Derick Lorentz CFO, according to The Grant Tribune-Sentinel.
Here are four things to know about Mr. Lorentz.
1. As CFO, Mr. Lorentz is responsible for leading financial operations and activities for PCHS.
2. Prior to joining PCHS, Mr. Lorentz served as CFO of Decatur Health Systems in Oberlin, Kan. In that role, he was responsible for the facilities operations and continuum of care for multiple departments, which included a 24 bed critical access hospital, clinic, 37-bed long-term care facility, home health and independent living facility, according to the report.
3. Mr. Lorentz not only has financial expertise, but also brings a high level of comprehension of PCHS' Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting process and the ability to improve operations and reduce costs, according to The Grant Tribune-Sentinel.
4. Mr. Lorentz holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in accounting from the University of Nebraska Lincoln, and is also a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
