President and CEO Gregory Burfitt of Allegheny General Hospital and Western Pennsylvania Hospital, both in Pittsburgh, will step down from his role at the end of October, according to a Pittsburgh Business Times report.
Mr. Burfitt has been leading at the helm of the hospitals since 2010. No reason was given for his departure. Duke Rupert will succeed him as president and CEO of West Penn Hospital while a nationwide search for a leader for Allegheny General Hospital takes place.
