Philadelphia-based University of Pennsylvania Health System/Penn Medicine announced a number of changes to its leadership team.
Garry Scheib is leaving his roles as COO of the University of Pennsylvania Health System and CEO of the Philadelphia-based Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. After 17 years of full-time service at Penn Medicine, Mr. Scheib will take on a part-time role at the health system, in addition to teaching and mentoring.
Regina Cunningham, PhD, RN, currently chief nursing executive for Penn Medicine, will serve as Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania's CEO. She has been with the health system since 2011. She has previously served as the health system's chief administrative officer of the cancer service line.
The health system appointed Phil Okala COO for the Philadelphia region. He currently served as senior vice president of business development, a role he has held since 2013. In his new role, he will oversee program integration across Penn Medicine's three Philadelphia-based hospitals.
Lori Gustave will succeed Mr. Okala as senior vice president of business development for the health system. She is currently chief administrative officer for Penn Medicine's musculoskeletal and rheumatology service line and COO for the department of orthopedic surgery.
