Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System has named Peggy Sebastian, MSN, president and CEO of HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Here are six things to know about Ms. Sebastian.
1. She will begin her new role at St. Elizabeth's Hospital Jan. 18.
2. She has served as president and CEO of HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, Ill., since 2009.
3. During her tenure at St. Joseph's, Ms. Sebastian, a nurse with more than 35 years of experience in healthcare administration, oversaw the hospital's capital construction project to relocate, build and open the $63 million replacement hospital and medical office building.
4. Before joining HSHS, Ms. Sebastian was president and CEO of Sebastian Group, a healthcare consulting company specializing in new facility construction and operational planning execution.
5. She also previously was chief patient care officer for Rogers Behavioral Health System in Wisconsin; and vice president in charge of operations at the 275-bed Mercy Hospital in Janesville, Wis. Additionally, she previously was assistant administrator at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru and assistant administrator at Herrin Hospital in southern Illinois.
6. Ms. Sebastian earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Loyola University in Chicago, a master's degree in business administration from Illinois State University in Normal and a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Illinois – Chicago.
