Pecos County Memorial Hospital CEO to resign: 3 things to know

Jim Horton, administrator and CEO of Fort Stockton, Texas-based Pecos County Memorial Hospital, is leaving the system, according to a Fort Stockton Pioneer report.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Horton and his resignation.

1. Mr. Horton is leaving PCMH Sept. 15.

2. In his letter of resignation, Mr. Horton said it is time for him to move to the next chapter in his career. He also expressed regret that the system did not get to complete an expansion project that would have involved building a new cancer treatment center. He said he hopes the dream of building the project is revived one day.

3. Three members of the PCMH board have been appointed to a committee that will search for an interim CEO, according to the report. That committee will report to the full board at its next regular meeting Sept. 1.
