Pecos County Memorial Hospital brings on 2 interim executives: 10 things to know

Pecos County Memorial Hospital in Fort Stockton, Texas, has hired two experts in financial and business management of healthcare systems to serve on its interim executive team, according to a Fort Stockton Pioneer report.

Here are 10 things to know about the leaders.

Sharon Hunt is part-time interim CFO.

1. Ms. Hunt identified her primary role as "a lot of accounting, to get into the ledger and financial reporting, to develop accurate financial information for the CEO," according to the report.

2. She is contracted through TORCH Management Services, Inc. (TMSI), which is a subsidiary of Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals.

3. She has served as CFO, and at times CEO/CFO, for hospitals of various sizes.

4. She shares her PCMH duties with her professorship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock.

Margaret Davis is interim business office director.

5. Ms. Davis identified her primary role as improving revenue-related processes, according to the report. She will be working on all steps of the revenue cycle.

6. PCMH contracts with Ms. Davis directly as the sole proprietor of Margaret Kerby-Davis Consulting, according to the report.

7. Ms. Davis has two decades of experience of business office management for hospitals and clinical practices in a number of states.

8. She has also consulted through ESI Healthcare Business Solutions and resolution, and just this year performed an on-site revenue cycle analysis as a resolution consultant to PCMH.

9. PCMH chose Ms. Davis for the interim position largely because of her previous recommendations for improving the system's billing-reimbursement processes, according to the report.

10. Ms. Davis is assisting PCMH in interviewing candidates for the permanent business office manager position. She plans to spend time before her contract expires in January working with the new manager.
