Boston-based Partners HealthCare has selected Ravi Thadhani, MD, to serve as chief academic officer, effective Nov. 11.
Dr. Thadhani most recently served as vice dean of research and graduate research education at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was previously associate director of research at Partners HealthCare from 2012 to 2017. He also served as executive director of Partners' Clinical Trials Office from 2015 to 2017.
In addition, he led a research laboratory at Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital for more than 20 years and served as the hospital's chief of nephrology for five years.
Dr. Thadhani is a professor of medicine at Boston-based Harvard Medical School, and he is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians. He has received several awards over the course of his career, including the Robert W. Schrier Endowed Lectureship from the American Society of Nephrology.
In addition to his medical training, Dr. Thadhani holds a master's degree in public health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston.
