David Lopez has been named permanent executive vice president and COO of Parkland in Dallas, according to a Houston Chronicle report.
Here are three things to know about Mr. Lopez.
1. He has served as interim COO of Parkland since February.
2. He previously served as CEO of Houston-based Harris Health System until two years ago, when the system's board of managers declined to renew his contract, according to the report. The report states that the system did not disclosed detailed reasons for the move except to say that "a leadership and new direction is necessary" to address national healthcare reform.
3. Mr. Lopez earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.
