Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center has appointed two interim co-leaders following the announced resignation of CEO Harold Paz, MD.
In a Sept. 9 letter to faculty and staff, OSU President Kristina Johnson, PhD, wrote that CFO Mark Larmore and Andrew Thomas, MD, chief clinical officer and senior associate vice president of health sciences, have been named interim replacements, effective immediately.
"Mr. Larmore will focus on operations and finance while Dr. Thomas will take the lead on clinical affairs and external relations," Dr. Johnson wrote. "Each will report directly to me and serve on my President's Cabinet."
Mr. Larmore has served as the medical center's CFO since 2015, while Dr. Thomas has served in a variety of leadership roles throughout his tenure, according to the announcement.
Dr. Paz's resignation will become effective Oct. 3. He will start a new role as executive vice president at Stony Brook (N.Y.) University.
