OSU Wexner Medical Center names first chief of supply chain officer

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus has named Hal Mueller the system's first chief supply chain officer. Mr. Mueller will begin his new role April 6.

In this role, Mr. Mueller will be responsible for streamlining hospital sourcing of drugs, supplies, services and capital.

"Operating efficiently and at a reasonable cost is a must in today’s healthcare environment," said Peter E. Geier, CEO of the OSU Health System. "We believe Hal’s leadership will help us to become even more effective in serving our community with the highest quality care at the best healthcare value."

Mr. Mueller has experience in supply chain management, strategic sourcing and purchasing in multiple industries, including healthcare. Most recently, he served as vice president for purchasing and supplier quality of Remington Outdoor Company in Madison, N.C.

Mr. Mueller also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy.
