Peoria, Ill.-based OSF Healthcare CEO Kevin Schoeplein will retire at the end of 2017. He assumed the role in 2011.
Here are five things to know:
1. Prior to being named CEO, Mr. Schoeplein was executive vice president of OSF Healthcare.
2. He joined OSF Healthcare as an assistant administrator at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria in 1978.
3. He has served in numerous leadership roles during his career at OSF, including as the first president of the OSF Healthcare Foundation.
4. OSF Healthcare named Bob Sehring, the current CEO of OSF's central region, as Mr. Schoeplein's successor.
5. To ensure a smooth transition, Mr. Sehring will assume the COO role of OSF HealthCare on Jan. 1, 2017, and then take on the CEO role at the end of 2017.
