Olathe Health System CEO Frank Devocelle to retire, ending 47-year tenure

Olathe (Kan.) Health System President and CEO Frank H. Devocelle is retiring, effective Dec. 31.

Mr. Devocelle, who has served in his current role since 1975, led the growth of the 100-bed Olathe Community Hospital with previous gross revenues of $3.2 million to the nearly $1 billion regional health system it is today.

During his 47-year tenure, Olathe Health received numerous accolades, including the Governor's Award of Excellence and an American Stroke Association award for stroke care. The health system also opened an expanded cardiovascular center, birthing facility with a level 2 neonatal intensive care unit and, most recently, a 25,000-square-foot cancer center.

The Olathe Health Board of Directors is creating a selection committee and hiring an executive search firm to find a CEO replacement.
