The Ochsner Health Network has added new leaders.
OHN is currently comprised of various partners including St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington; La.; Lafayette (La.) General Health; CHRISTUS Health Louisiana, a region of Irving, Texas-based CHRISTUS Health; Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma, La.; and Slidell (La.) Memorial Hospital.
Here are eight things to know about the new leaders.
David Carmouche, MD, has taken on the role of senior vice president and president of OHN.
1. Prior to joining OHN, Dr. Carmouce was executive vice president of external operations and CMO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana in Baton Rouge. There, he designed and deployed a physician-friendly, comprehensive primary care population health program and several commercial accountable care organization contracts.
2. In his new role, he is responsible for executive oversight and management for OHN.
Thomas Groves joined New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System as vice president of network development for OHN.
3. Most recently, Mr. Groves was assistant commissioner in the division of administration for the state of Louisiana. In that role, he was responsible for directing multiple state agencies including, but not limited to, the state's employee health plan, information technology, human resources, risk management, payroll and the Office of State Procurement.
Lisa Blume was named CFO of OHN.
4. Ms. Blume, a certified public accountant, has held senior positions at provider-sponsored health plans, including vice president and CFO of Ochsner Health Plan. While holding these roles, she directed all financial, treasury, analysis, underwriting, accounting, billing and enrollment functions for the managed care organization.
Doug Ardoin Jr., MD, currently serves as the system medical director for OHN.
5. In his role, Dr. Ardoin is responsible for oversight of growth and management of the network. That includes the development of Ochsner Physician Partners, population management, medical management and ambulatory quality for the network.
6. Previously, he was CMO of the Naples (Fla.) Community Hospital Healthcare System.
Philip Oravetz, MD, is the ACO medical director at Ochsner Health System.
7. In his role, Dr. Oravetz provides physician leadership to the system's accountable care network.
8. Additionally, he is lead in development of Ochsner Health System's clinical integration network, Pursuit of Value initiative and integration of the system's population risk management model.
