NYC Health + Hospitals has appointed four healthcare executives who will fill senior leadership positions.
In a news release, officials said these executives will help guide the public hospital system's transformation to support its Vision 2020 goals toward financial stability, growth and improving the patient experience.
Here are 14 things to know about the appointees.
Eboné M. Carrington has been appointed CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, effective April 11.
1. Ms. Carrington has been serving as acting CEO for the last month while carrying out her duties as COO, a position she's held since September 2013.
2. She has long been involved with Harlem Hospital where each of her parents worked for more than three decades. As a family, they have shared over 80 years of service to the Harlem community, according to a news release.
3. Ms. Carrington previously was senior vice president and chief quality officer at Interfaith Medical Center in New York City and senior consultant for the hospital and healthcare management firm Kurron Shares of America.
4. She earned a master's degree in public administration from NYU.
Maureen E. McClusky has been appointed senior vice president of post-acute/long term care at NYC Health + Hospitals, effective April 4.
5. Ms. McClusky has a combined 25 years of experience in post-acute care.
6. She served as executive director for ArchCare's largest specialty post-acute facility in East Harlem and oversaw skilled nursing facility operations for Great Neck, N.Y.-based Northwell Health, formerly North Shore-LIJ Health System, as well as Bayside, N.Y.-based St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children and Paramus, N.J.-based Bergen Regional Medical Center.
7. She earned a master's degree from NYU School of Health, Nursing and Arts Professions.
Richard J. Gannotta, BSN, RN, has been appointed senior vice president for hospitals, effective May 9.
8. In his role, Mr. Gannotta will oversee NYC Health + Hospitals' 11 public hospitals.
9. Most recently, he was president at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
10. He also previously held various executive positions at Duke University Health System/Duke Raleigh (N.C.) Hospital and Raleigh-based WakeMed Health and Hospitals.
11. Mr. Gannotta earned a bachelor's degree in nursing and nurse practitioner certification from Florida International University, based in greater Miami. He also earned a master's degree in business administration from Campbell University, based in Buies Creek, N.C., and a doctorate degree in healthcare administration from the Medical University of South Carolina, based in Charleston.
Gregory Calliste has been appointed CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, effective April 11.
12. Mr. Calliste has been serving as acting CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx for the past six months and COO since March 2015.
13. Previously, he held several senior administrative positions at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings for more than 20 years.
14. He has a master's degree in public health from Columbia University in New York City and a master's degree in business administration from NY Institute of Technology.
