Fairfield, Calif.-based NorthBay Healthcare CEO Gary Passama announced his retirement, effective in March 2017. He has served as CEO for 35 years.
Mr. Passama joined NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield, formerly Intercommunity Hospital, as CEO in 1981. He led the organization as it grew into a two-hospital system, which also includes four campuses, a 100-provider medical group and 2,500 employees.
Mr. Passama serves on the boards of Western Health Advantage Health Plan and California Healthcare Insurance Company. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served on the California Hospital Association Board of Directors.
NorthBay Healthcare's board of directors will begin the search for a new president and CEO. Mr. Passama will stay on as a consultant after he leaves his post in March next year.
