North Shore Medical Center in Salem, Mass., tapped cardiologist David J. Roberts, MD, to serve as president, effective spring 2017.
Here are four things to know:
1. Dr. Roberts currently serves as chair of medicine and chief of cardiology at NSMC, positions he has held since 2011.
2. Board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, Dr. Roberts helped establish a comprehensive cardiology program at NSMC, which includes interventional cardiology capabilities.
3. He succeeds Robert G. Norton, who has retired from the role. Since Mr. Norton left his post, Gregg S. Meyer, MD, has served as president on an interim basis.
4. Dr. Roberts completed a research fellowship focused on cardiovascular disease at Boston-based New England Medical Center.
