North Oaks Health System in Hammond, La., hired Diane Thompson, RN, PhD, to serve as chief nursing officer.

1. Dr. Thompson has 35-plus years of experience in nursing leadership and consulting.
2. She has worked at numerous healthcare institutions, including Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente and Indiana University Health in Indianapolis.
3. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Organization of Nurse Executives and American Association of Critical Care Nurses, among others.
4. Dr. Thompson earned her doctorate degree at University of Kansas in Lawrence. She also holds an MBA from University of Illinois at Chicago.
