The president of Lillington, N.C.-based Cape Fear Valley Harnett Healthcare is planning to step down at the end of the year, according to The Daily Record.
Cory Hess became president of Harnett Healthcare in 2018, responsible for two hospitals and multiple clinics. One of his goals was to increase medical services already offered and provide more care closer to home for the communities Harnett serves, according to a report from The Daily Record.
The health system has expanded during Mr. Hess's tenure and last year broke ground on a new medical arts complex which includes a cancer center. The facility is also expected to include orthopedics, otolaryngology, cardiology and rheumatology.
Mr. Hess is exiting the health system for new entrepreneurial opportunities, according to the report. He will remain in his role through the end of the year and the health system hasn't named a successor.
