NewYork-Presbyterian hospital taps chief of medicine

NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital has selected Maya Hogg, MD, to serve as chief of medicine. 

Dr. Hogg is a leading hospitalist who took on the new role Oct. 1. As chief of medicine, she will direct inpatient and outpatient medical treatment, with a focus on increasing access to quality care from internists and specialists. She will also focus on recruiting and retaining faculty and provider well-being, according to an Oct. 25 news release. 

Dr. Hogg was also named vice chair in the medicine department at Weill Cornell Medicine. 

She succeeds Renuka Gupta, MD, as chief of medicine, who served in the role from July 2020 to August 2023. Dr. Gupta will continue to serve as an adjunct professor of clinical medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine.
