Kerry R. Watson, president of Newton (Mass.)-Wellesley Hospital, stepped down from his position Nov. 30, according to The Boston Globe.
Mr. Watson began his role as president in 2013. He previously served as president of Durham, N.C.-based Duke Regional Hospital.
In October, Mr. Watson said he planned "to pursue his long-time interest in mentoring young healthcare professionals and, perhaps, to do a bit of consulting on organizational change" after he left, according to a memo from Earl M. Collier Jr., chairman of the hospital's board.
Newton-Wellesley Hospital's COO, Ellen Moloney, will serve as interim president.
