John Brennan, MD, CEO of Newark (N.J.) Beth Israel Medical Center, has decided he will not leave his position to become CEO of Cleveland-based MetroHealth System, according to a New Jersey Business report.
MetroHealth had named Dr. Brennan as its CEO earlier this month. He was expected to take the helm at MetroHealth in January 2013.
No reason for Dr. Brennan's decision to stay at Newark Beth Israel was given in the report.
