Linda Farchione will retire as CEO of Thompson Health in Canandaigua, N.Y., in about a year, according to a Rochester Business Journal report.
Ms. Farchione has served as CEO of Thompson Health since 1991. She previously served as vice president of nursing at the system's F.F. Thompson Hospital since 1986.
She decided to retire partly because of the time required to implement healthcare reform initiatives, according to the report. She said a health system leader would need to serve for at least the next seven or eight years to follow through on healthcare reform changes.
