Beaufort (S.C.) Memorial Hospital has named Edmond Russell Baxley III president and CEO, effective Sept. 12.
Here are four things to know about Mr. Baxley.
1. He will succeed outgoing president and CEO Rick Toomey, who will stay on in a consulting role through the transition as needed.
2. Mr. Baxley most recently was CEO of Lancaster (Pa.) Regional Medical Center.
3. During Mr. Baxley's tenure at LRMC, the hospital developed and expanded critical services, including neurosurgery and oncology; constructed a 30,000-square-foot facility with urgent care and various outpatient services; developed telemedicine and population health management programs; recruited 20 primary care and specialty providers; and improved patient satisfaction scores across 10 key areas, according to Beaufort Memorial.
4. Mr. Baxley earned a bachelor's degree in microbiology from Clemson (S.C.) University and a master's degree in healthcare administration from the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
