Incoming Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System CEO Wright Lassiter, III, has started his tenure at the helm of the organization. Mr. Lassiter was named CEO in September 2014, when longtime leader Nancy Schlichting announced she would retire at the end of 2016. He has served as system president since December 2014.
In the past two years, Mr. Lassiter has worked closely the organization's leadership team, focusing on comprehensive strategic planning and growth initiatives. Prior to Henry Ford, he was CEO of Alameda Health System, based in Oakland, Calif. He also previously worked at Methodist Health System in Dallas and JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas.
Mr. Lassiter served on the boards of the American Hospital Association and America's Essential Hospitals. He holds a master's degree in healthcare administration from Bloomington-based Indiana University.
