New CEOs have been named at Florida Hospital New Smyrna in New Smyrna Beach and Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast.
Here are seven things to know about the leaders.
Ken Mattison, CEO of Florida Hospital Flagler, has been appointed CEO of Florida Hospital New Smyrna, formerly Bert Fish Medical Center.
1. Mr. Mattison will serve in a dual role until May 1, when Ronald Jimenez, MD, becomes CEO of Florida Hospital Flagler.
2. He has served as president and CEO of Florida Hospital Flagler since 2013.
3. During Mr. Mattison's tenure at Florida Hospital Flagler, the campus experienced significant growth, most recently breaking ground on a $15 million construction project to add 32 beds, and announcing plans for another $4.5 million project to expand the cancer center and add a second linear accelerator for radiation oncology treatments, according to a news release.
4. Mr. Mattison's past experience also includes serving as president and CEO of Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, six years as president and CEO of Jellico (Tenn.) Community Hospital, and vice president and COO of Park Ridge Health in Hendersonville, N.C.
5. With Mr. Mattison taking over the CEO role in New Smyrna Beach, current CEO Steve Harrell will become the COO of Florida Hospital New Smyrna.
Dr. Jimenez has been appointed CEO of Florida Hospital Flagler.
6. Dr. Jimenez currently serves as CMO of Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
7. As CMO, Dr. Jimenez established a clinically integrated network, was responsible for quality and patient safety, and oversaw performance improvement, utilization review and medical staff departments, according to a news release.
