Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Foundation, also known as Nemours Children's Health System, appointed R. Lawrence Moss, MD, president and CEO, effective Oct. 1.
Dr. Moss most recently served as surgeon-in-chief at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and the E. Thomas Boles Jr., Professor of Surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, also in Columbus. He was previously the inaugural chief of surgery at Yale New Haven (Conn.) Children's Hospital and Robert Pritzker Professor of Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven.
Dr. Moss is president of the Children's Hospital Association Surgeons-in-Chief Forum. He previously served as chairperson of the Surgical Section of the American Academy Pediatrics. He designed and led the first multicenter clinical trial in children's surgery, which was funded by the NIH and published in The New England Journal of Medicine.
Dr. Moss succeeds David J. Bailey, MD, who is retiring after 13 years at the helm of the integrated children's health system.
