Nemours Delaware Valley chief Dr. Roy Proujansky to retire

Roy Proujansky, MD, chief operations executive of the Delaware Valley for Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Children's Health System, is retiring, effective Aug. 7.

Dr. Proujansky assumed his current role in 2013, gaining responsibility for all clinical operations at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del., Nemours duPont Pediatrics in Wilmington and prevention efforts in the Delaware Valley.

He was previously an enterprise executive vice president at Nemours. He has also served as chief executive of Nemours duPont Pediatrics and chief of the gastroenterology and nutrition division at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.

From 2000 to 2006, Dr. Proujansky was the Robert L. Brent professor, chair of the pediatrics department and associate dean at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.
