Trish O'Keefe, PhD, BSN, RN, has been named president of Morristown (N.J.) Medical Center.
Here are four things to know about Dr. O'Keefe.
1. She began her career in 1981 as a nurse at then-Morristown Memorial Hospital.
2. Since her career began, she has taken on roles of increasing responsibility throughout the medical center and its parent organization, Morristown-based Atlantic Health System. She was named CNO of Morristown Medical Center in 1996, chief experience officer in 2012, and has served as interim president since July 2015.
3. Under Dr. O'Keefe’s leadership, Morristown Medical Center received designation as an American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence in 2001, according to a news release. The hospital received re-designation in 2005, 2009 and 2014.
4. Dr. O'Keefe has served on the board for Organization of Nurse Executives in New Jersey for a decade.
