New York City-based Montefiore Medicine named Philip O. Ozuah, PhD, as its new CEO, effective Nov. 15.
Dr. Ozuah is president of Montefiore Health System. He previously was physician-in-chief of the Children's Hospital at Montefiore. He has also served as professor and university chairman of pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
He is a two-time recipient of the Academic Pediatric Association's Helfer Award for Innovation in Medical Education and completed his PhD in educational leadership and administration from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
Dr. Ozuah earned his medical degree in Nigeria and completed his pediatric internship and residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Health System.
Dr. Ozuah succeeds Steven M. Safyer, MD, who is retiring.
