Mon Health's interim CEO Dottie Oakes steps down: 4 things to know

Dottie Oakes, MSN, RN, interim CEO of Morgantown, W.Va.-based Mon Health, has resigned, according to a statement from the organization.

Here are four things to know:

1. Ms. Oakes assumed the role in February after Darryl Duncan was placed on a leave of absence. She joined Mon Health to serve as COO in November 2017.

2. More than 20 physicians at the institution's flagship hospital, Morgantown-based Mon Health Medical Center, signed a letter of no confidence in Mr. Duncan resulting in the leave of absence.

3. The statement from Mon Health notes, "When she came out of retirement to join Mon Health last November, it was to serve in an interim capacity to assist the hospital during a transitional period."

4. The organization is searching for a new CEO. Mon Health's executive team will continue to lead the organization.
