Patti VanDort will take the helm of Holland (Mich.) Hospital as CEO, effective Jan. 29.
Ms. VanDort has served as president of the 189-bed hospital since April 2022. She joined the executive team in 2001 as vice president for nursing and CNO, a role she held for 17 years before moving on to spend time as senior vice president of hospital operations.
Ms. VanDort succeeds Dale Sowders, who is retiring Jan. 30 after 22 years as CEO of the organization. Holland Hospital is one of only a few independent full-service acute care hospitals in Michigan.
With the appointment of Ms. VanDort, Mark Pawlak is appointed to the role of president, effective Jan. 29. Mr. Pawlak joined Holland Hospital in 1998 and most recently served as executive vice president.
The appointments of Ms. VanDort and Mr. Pawlark mark the final phase of Holland Hospital's succession plan, which began in April 2022.
