Michael Bartell named CEO of Alabama hospital: 4 things to know

Michael Bartell has been named CEO of Phenix City, Ala.-based Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture between Birmingham, Ala.-based HealthSouth and Columbus (Ga.) Regional Health, according to a Ledger-Enquirer report.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Bartell.

1. As CEO, he oversees all day-to-day operations at the 48-bed RRH, as well as patient quality and care.

2. Prior to his current role, he served as associate administrator at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Sarasota (Fla.) from 2014-15, and as director of service lines and business development in an acute care setting in California.

3. Mr. Bartell completed his undergraduate degree in health science at Fresno (Calif.) Pacific University and obtained his master's degree in public health from Loma Linda (Calif.) University.

4.  He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
