Mercy Hospital Joplin president, CNO are retiring

Two leaders from Mercy Hospital Joplin (Mo.) are retiring July 26, according to The Joplin Globe.

Gary Pulsipher, president of the hospital, and Dennis Manley, chief nursing officer, both announced their retirement.

Mr. Pulsipher joined the Joplin hospital in November 2009, which was then known as St. John's Regional Medical Center. He led the hospital during the aftermath of a 2011 tornado that destroyed the hospital. He oversaw the building of a new facility.

He was previously president of Breech Regional Medical Center in Lebanon, Mo.

Mr. Manley has worked at the hospital for 43 years, beginning as a staff nurse.

Mercy Hospital Joplin appointed Kelli Bigando, its director of patient care services, as interim CNO. The hospital plans to announce an interim president soon, according to the report.
