Mercy Health System, based in Conshohocken, Pa., has named Neil S. Whitaker, MD, chief medical officer.
In his new position, Dr. Whitaker will be responsible for facilitating physician alignment and clinical excellence and improving quality and efficiency of patient care throughout the system.
Dr. Whitaker, an internist, comes to Mercy Health System from Intermountain Healthcare in Provo, Utah, where he served as chief medical officer of the urban Southern region since 2002. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch.
