Yousuf Ahmad, former CEO of Mercy Health-Cincinnati, plans to step down Wednesday from his current position as senior vice president for system development for Mercy Health's Ohio and Kentucky operations and as president of the Mercy Health Behavioral Health Institute, according to a Cincinnati Business Courier report.
Here are three things to know about Mr. Ahmad and his upcoming departure.
1. Mr. Ahmad served as CEO of five Mercy Health hospitals in the Cincinnati area from May 2013 until Jan. 5, 2015, when John Starcher succeeded him as CEO. That same day, he became a senior vice president of the Catholic hospital network’s parent company, which is also called Mercy Health. In June, Mr. Ahmad added the title of president of the Behavioral Health Institute, which provides treatment for mental disorders at Mercy Health facilities throughout Ohio, according to the report.
2. During his time as CEO, Mercy Health opened its $270 million West Hospital in Cincinnati.
3. A memo to employees announcing Mr. Ahmad had submitted his resignation did not indicate whether Mr. Ahmad had accepted another job.
