Michael Connelly, president and CEO of Cincinnati-based Mercy Health, will retire Jan. 31, 2017.
Here are three things to know about Mr. Connelly.
1. He has led Mercy Health since 1995.
2. During his tenure at Mercy Health, the organization has evolved from seven autonomous regional healthcare providers to a unified health system with assets of $6.1 billion, hospital officials said.
3. Mr. Connelly will be succeeded by John Starcher, who was appointed president and CEO-elect. Mr. Starcher currently serves as Mercy Health's executive vice president of operations in its southern markets and president and CEO of the Cincinnati Region, which includes five hospitals and more than 180 network locations.
