Ash Gokli, MD, will be leaving his position as CEO of Memorial Hospital Los Banos (Calif.), part of Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health, to take a new job as Sutter Health's CMO in the Central Valley, according to a Los Banos Enterprise report.
Here are three things to know about Dr. Gokli and his departure.
1. Dr. Gokli has been the hospital's CEO since March 2014.
2. Dr. Gokli said he may continue to serve as CEO in Los Banos for one to three months while Sutter Health finds a replacement, according to the report.
3. During Dr. Gokli's tenure at Memorial Hospital Los Banos, the hospital has been able to cut the number of patients being airlifted to other facilities by 40 percent by bringing in various specialists and networking with private practice doctors in Los Banos, Dr. Gokli said, according to the report. The hospital has added a digital mammography machine and, at the end of September, a mobile MRI machine will arrive. Memorial Hospital Los Banos is also anticipating having a CT scanner by March.
