Maurine Cate, who was offered the CEO position at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash., earlier this week, has decided not to take up the post, according to a report by The Spokesman-Review.
Ms. Cate currently serves as CEO of McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Springfield, Ore., and she intends to keep her current position. A Deaconess spokeswoman told The Spokesman-Review Ms. Cate cited personal reasons and a desire to continue her work in Oregon as reasons for declining the offer.
