Fred Rankin, III, president and CEO of Fredericksburg, Va.-based Mary Washington Healthcare, has announced his plans to retire on Dec. 31, 2014.
Mr. Frankin joined the health system in 1992 as president. In 1995, he was promoted to CEO.
He previously served as assistant administrator at Forbes Regional Health Care and senior vice president of Allegheny General Hospital, both in Pittsburgh.
